Il Castello

Il Castello is one of the oldest sectors in Jerzu, bolted in the old style, in sharp contrast with the new sectors in Ulassai.
Short and pumpy routes, where the crux moves are often obligatory and not safely protected (the bolt may be in the middle, or after the move)
2026 update: We recommend climbing the left side of the crag, from route 1 to 60 (Cuore in Corto), as the right part is hard to reach through the thick vegetation.
The bolting at Il Castello is really old and apart from a few new lowering points, all the rest are old glue-in “French Style”, potentially lethal.
